Today you will breathe
Soaring above the abyss
Untethered from grief
Grief is a long journey. Days can turn to months — even years, and we’re left wondering: when will I feel the fullness of life again?
One awakens from sorrow slowly — a pace so tedious it can feel that one is standing still.
But, inevitably, a day arrives — when the sun shines a bit brighter, and we can see past the dense fog of heartache.
Perhaps it’s a laugh shared with a friend or an ability to revisit happy memories. But, in some situations, joy is an act of forgetfulness — a day passes, and we give no thought to who or what we lost.
Acceptance rises like a city, welcoming grief’s weary travelers.
One step at a time — peace, freedom, and joy draw nearer, leaving the broken-hearted untethered from grief.
Here’s to each of you journeying with grief—acceptance may seem like that city a million miles away, but step by step, it’s closer than you think. Take heart—you are not alone.
